A private country estate, move-in ready, with room to grow.
Set on 1.3 acres of private land just outside Zafra, one of Extremadura's most charming market towns, this single-storey country home has a private pool, a large mature plot with 20 olive trees and fruit orchards, and a 55m² outbuilding with real conversion potential. All paperwork is complete and written up (escriturado), which in rural Spain is always worth confirming before you fall in love with a property.
The house has benefited from recent window replacements, and updates in plumbing and kitchen appliances. The large open living room with working fireplace flows to a shaded outdoor terrace and a traditional Spanish BBQ area. Three bedrooms including one that converts perfectly to a home office for remote workers.
The real story here is the land. A 30m² private swimming pool with a raised terrace and countryside views beyond. A productive vegetable garden with fruit trees and 20 olive trees. A 55m² agricultural outbuilding with real potential as a guest cottage, studio, or additional storage. Two water sources including a 6,000-litre storage tank. This is a property with genuine self-sufficiency potential.

Zafra, the little Seville of Extremadura.
Zafra is one of Extremadura's most genuinely livable towns, and not just by rural Spain standards. A 15th-century castle (now a Parador hotel), a beautiful cobbled central plaza, weekly markets, and a restaurant scene that punches well above its size. But what matters for day-to-day life: there is a full hospital right in town, large grocery stores including Mercadona, a movie theater, a performance theater with a regular program, actual nightlife, gyms, and schools from early years through high school. The local population is notably welcoming toward English speakers, which makes the transition considerably easier than in more insular parts of rural Spain.
The property sits just outside town in a peaceful rural area, close enough to reach everything on foot or by bike, far enough to feel genuinely away from it all. Seville is 1 hour 20 minutes for international flights and one of Spain's great cities for a weekend. The Portuguese border is under an hour away, opening up easy access to Portugal's Atlantic coast. And for those who want a beach day, the coast is a 2.5 hour drive, perfectly doable for a long weekend with visiting family or friends.
